One of the world’s biggest cinemas is coming to Dubai – Time Out Dubai

An absolutely enormous new cinema complex will open in Dubai’s Meydan One mall.
The UAE’s first Cinépolis (the fourth-largest cinema brand in the world) will set up shop in in the mall when it opens in 2020.
The mall will be Dubai’s biggest, and will be home to a 1km-long ski slope, an observation deck set some 100-metres higher than At The Top at the Burj Khalifa and the region’s first E-Karting track – a 4,000 sq m track set over multiple floors.
The near 10,000 sq m Cinépolis will have 21 screens capable of hosting more than 3,000 moviegoers at any given moment.
The Mexican cinema brand says it will bring its most technologically-advanced screens to the UAE, including the immersive 4D E-Motion, plus the IMAX-rivalling Macro XE, some covering more than 170 sq m of screen space.
Fahad Abdulrahim Kazim, vice president of Meydan Malls, Meydan Group, says: “We’re very excited to be bringing the first-ever Cinépolis movie theatre to Dubai.
“Cinépolis’ immersive and futuristic cinematic experiences perfectly demonstrate just how far retail concepts have grown and advanced in the region, and we couldn’t be prouder to be leading this exciting evolution.”
We absolutely cannot wait to see this complex open, but in the meantime check out more stuff to see and do in Dubai’s malls – from indoor skydiving to playing with penguins.
